The Hike

Today, I finally got out to do a hike. It's been a while since I did one, so we tried to do an easy hike to get my land legs back. My father picked out a place called Lookout Point ~15 miles away. It should be pointed out that I'm not exactly in shape since I don't do much, so some of expected/comical things happened.

Started when we were actually trying to find the small trail. I didn't realize that we were trying to find a place called "Lookout Road" to walk on, so we had an extra half mile to the walk because we were too busy swatting gnats out of our faces to see we missed our spot. Once we started going up the hill, some thunder sounded in the distance, but we kept going on. Myself, I was quite in agony over this and stopped on numerous occasions to try and ease up on my tiredness. It ended with me puking on the side of the trail not far from the peak of the hill. Even before that happened, I wanted to turn back because my legs were sore, but my father kept telling me to go on and I had to hang on to his arm at a couple points just to encourage myself to keep walking. There was a screaming noise when we got near the top as well, but my father explained that the noise came from when trees were too close together and rubbed against each other. When we got near the lookout point (thus the name), I saw a tree branch rubbing against a tree trunk that made a similar noise, but it wasn't nearly the same. Perhaps different trees make different noises or something, I dunno.

Eventually, we made it to where we wanted to be, I got to rest as some light rain came down on us from the storm overhead. It lasted like 5 minutes and no lightning came near us. So, in the end, I puked and my legs are still sore as hell from the walk hours ago, and I'm still wondering whether or not those 4 miles were worth it. At least the view was nice.

Been Busy

I'm back. A lot of strange things have been happening lately and I haven't gotten around to this. Well, lets go back over a week.

Last Thursday, I got my driver's license. I was pretty nervous when I did it that I did a lot of things wrong, like forgetting to look in my blind spots and I didn't even turn on my defroster when the guy rolled the windows down (it was cold and rainy that day). Now that I have my license, my mother says that I can't call her at work anymore to say that I missed the bus come school time.

Friday, nothing.

Saturday, I recall the only interesting thing was that a street lamp down the road was dimmer than usual. It was brighter later.

Monday was probably the strangest. I got to drive for the first time on my own. Before coming back home, I stopped at my Grandmother's house. We were sitting at a dining table and there's a mirror behind my Grandmother when I spoke to her. In the mirror, I thought - no, I did - saw something poke into view. The scariest thing was that I thought it was a face for the damnedest reasons. I looked out the window to see what was out there I just saw a flag my Grandmother had hanging on her porch, and it looked nothing like what I saw.

Feeling Ill

Feel a bit under the weather, which is strange given the circumstances as I feel as though I'm coming down with a flu. Fever and... well, the other thing. Think it's going to be a day of rest.

Plus side, driver's test tomorrow. We'll see how that goes.

Reality

Reality kinda hit hard today. Picked up the phone thinking it was going to be my father - turned out to be a person trying to sell me a life in the military. Been annoyed since then, seeing as I have to look forward to real life after all is said and done... the military most likely not being that. The man was in a stupor when I said "I'd think about it" as if his car salesman pitch was going to work.

Went out to the movies again. Dark Knight this time. Something really weird happened, though. When we left the cinema,  it was storming a bit with lightning going on in the distance. My father called up a friend of his and had to pull over to the side of a road going back home because he was about to hit a dead zone on his phone. While we were parked there, I thought I saw a person standing the field. He was tall and white, but he was pretty descriptionless as far as appearance went. I just stared at him for about 30 seconds until a lightning flash took my gaze off him and he was gone. As my father drove off, I looked back and saw him standing where we had parked. I think I was the only one who saw him.

Nope.

Nothing done of fun.

My father took a few days off to rest up from his job (he's a hard worker, so they're okay with it), so hoping for something good finally.

Quiet on the Homefront

Nothing of interest happening. Might go out to the Fort tomorrow with mom, but we'll see what happens.

Catty Things Abound

One thing I failed to mention about myself: I have cats. A lot of them, thanks to my mother. We have 6 of the things running around our house (Yes, I actually remember all of their names). Well, they've been behaving even more strange than usual. The other day, one of our cats, Sylvester, was banging on one of our living room windows, but there was nothing out there I could see.

Yesterday, 4 of the cats were just staring out into the woods across from our home. Nothing else, just staring. I still didn't see anything, but I humored the thought that one of the tree branches was a long arm. It's silly, but it looked like one, but handless.

Post-Movie Night

Walked out for lunch yesterday and picked up a submarine sandwich and a some fries under $10. Some bushes ruffled as I walked by them, a hedge-like thing at one point. I fancied the thought that something was going to jump out and take my lunch.

Later, my father picked me up to go out to the theaters to see that new Spider-Man movie. I found the cast more tasteful than the Tobey Maguire movies. Lizard was pretty cool, too. It was a evening time, so by the time I got home, it was night out. I find night strange in how it can easily play with your mind, even since the humans lived in caves. When I was talking with my dad on the way back, I looked around quick in a woody area and thought I saw the outline of something near the road. I know better, since seeing things is a common occurrence when your mind creates it.

This morning

Woke up about 15 minutes ago, lying in bed. Tried to go back to sleep, but that failed when I felt something go down my throat. Turns out it was a nose bleed. I let it drip for a minute or so in the bathroom sink before I plugged it up.

That's twice in two days, now. Maybe I need to get some more iron.

My First Post

Hello world, welcome to my opus.

Nope, there's no music, just the words of Peter Thorao and his project blog (that's me, by the way). I was diagnosed with depression when I was in the 7th grade after I attacked a fellow student. I don't remember why I did it. I was sent to a hospital and given a medical check-up to make sure I was okay to participate in school; I was. Since then, I've been seeing a counselor on and off for my depression and general seclusion.

I hate taking my pills for my condition, and my counselor, Joann, knows that. She told me that I either had to take them or opt for an alternative. So, I made a blog. I'm not really sure what to do for it, but I'm already liking it.

Let's see, a little about myself... I like playing video games. First Player Shooters are my favorite type of games on my console and Real Time Strategy on my laptop. I also hate water since my near death experience when I was 2, and prefer to stay out of it. I'm currently unemployed for now, but I'm hoping that will change in a couple of weeks when I get my license.

Let's see what happens. Until tomorrow.
